Do I need to report taxes while using Poached Shifts?

What to expect when tax season rolls around

According to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), individuals who work as independent contractors or freelancers are categorized as 1099 employees - including those engaged as shift workers through Poached.

Poached Shift workers operate as independent contractors and are not considered direct employees of Poached. Poached does not issue any tax documents to these individuals.

If you do fall under the category of those required to file taxes, you will receive a 1099 tax form from Stripe directly. Stripe acts as the intermediary for processing payments for Poached shift workers and handles the delivery of workers tax forms.

To guarantee you receive your tax documents accurately and on time, it's crucial to double-check that your mailing address, Social Security number, Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), and any other relevant information on your Stripe account remain current.
