All Poached Shift workers are 1099 contractors - basically their own employer. As 1099 contract workers they will pay any necessary state and federal taxes at the end of the year. While many workers already have their own personal insurance, Poached does provide “on-the-job” coverage, or Occupational Accidental Insurance, for the duration of the Shift worked for each Shift worker.
